Cycling, Hiking, Enjoyment…

There is plenty of everything. To get you started a bit, here are a few ideas.

From De Trommel you can walk across the dunes or beach to Domburg in 20 minutes.

Domburg, a combination of beautiful beaches and a picturesque village just behind the dunes, a popular seaside resort. The wonderful sea air, along with the forest and dunes give you a real vacation feeling.

Because of the stores and restaurants, mainly on East Street (main street), it is often crowded. During the summer months, every Monday market in Domburg from noon to 9 pm.

In the Vroon Westkapelle you can spot unusual birds. On the dike in Westkapelle you will find a bird hide, among other things.

There are several churches in the area that you can visit on Sundays.

Beautiful hiking area

Around De Trommel is a lovely walk. Over the beach, the dunes, the countryside or along the boot trail that runs across the yard behind the Drum at Janse Campground.

Visit the Mantelinge in Domburg or nature reserve Oranjezon in Vrouwenpolder. A beautiful area worth walking through. 3 marked hiking trails allow you to traverse most of this area. You are sure to encounter roe deer and fallow deer.

The second highest dune top in Zeeland can be found in Zoutelande. You can reach it while walking along the dike and dunes, or you can walk along the beach and take the beach stairs. When you have caught your breath, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea, beach and the village of Zoutelande.

Lovely biking in the area

Rent bicycles from Leo and Annie Joosse in Aagtekerke. Their bicycle store is located in the village square, next to the tower of Aagtekerke.

From De Trommel, cycle along the Westkapelse seawall, through the Kreken forest, under the dunes to Zoutelande. From there, you will cycle along the dunes below to Dishoek and finally the boulevard of Vlissingen.

Picking Garden

Visit the “Hof Hazenberg” picking garden. Open from June to October. You can go there to pick flowers and fruits. After a bike ride, a good stop to enjoy the sunshine and a delicious homemade pie on the garden terrace! This is also where our fresh flowers come from.
